CemAir’s wings clipped again

The suspension was necessitated by the SACAA.

The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) has once again grounded beleaguered airline, CemAir.

The airline’s operations were suspended on Friday last week.

The SACAA said the suspension was as a result of concerns over the ‘systemic failure of the airline’s maintenance controls’.

According to the authority, the most recent annual renewal audit revealed CemAir’s ‘inability to prove the continued airworthiness of its fleet’.
