Lord Muruga is worshipped during Kavady

During Kavady, prayer and penance are observed by devotees over 10 days.

During Thai Poosam Kavady, a Hindu religious festival, the Hindu deity, Lord Muruga, is worshipped.

Devotees from the Port Shepstone Tamil Association, the Umzimkulwana Shri Siva Soobramoniar temple and the Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Alayam observed the festival on Monday this week.

Devotees carry the Kavady, which is a wooden frame decked with flowers, Hindu deities, lime, other fruit, and milk.
