Man injured in chase after would-be thief in Scottburgh
He spotted the suspect near the Scottburgh Golf Course and accosted him.
A man suffered a cut to his elbow in a scuffle with an intruder on Monday this week.
According to Scottburgh Saps, Julien Lepront noticed at about 8pm that the garage door at his Bermuda Way, Scottburgh home was open.

“He went to investigate after hearing a noise coming from the garage,” said Port Shepstone Saps communications officer, Captain Petros Mpinge.
Mr Lepront noticed a man scaling the fence. He gave chase in his car.
Moments later, he spotted the suspect near the Scottburgh Golf Course and accosted him.
“We had a fist fight. He tried to swing first, but missed. I didn’t. He produced a knife and attempted to stab me. I managed to avoid the blow, which just caught my elbow.”
The man then ran off.
Nothing was stolen from the property.
