Sarel  received a phone call from Adri Strydom as her dogs were barking at her car, and then she saw a black mamba slithering into her vehicle.

“I told her to watch from a distance until I got there,” said Sarel.

Once at her house, Sarel gave her gloves and a brave Adri had to lift the bonnet, while Sarel quickly grabbed the mamba with his tongs.

Sadly, unknown to Adri the mamba had already bitten and killed her three-legged dog, Jacky.

“It was a terrible experience. Sarel was excellent, he has good heart. He was so helpful, if it wasn’t for him I don’t know what I would have done,” she said.

“Adri told me all her dogs were fine, but when I left she phoned and told me one of her dogs was dead,” added Sarel.
