Learn sign language at St Martin de Porres

The campaign creates sign language awareness and promotes bridging the gap between the deaf and hearing.

Taskeen Ameer, audiologist at St Martin de Porres Comprehensive School, recently became an ambassador for the ‘talksign’ campaign run by the KZN Blind and Deaf Society.

The campaign creates sign language awareness and promotes bridging the gap between the deaf and hearing.

The launch took place in Durban recently and the school’s Deaf Awareness Committee will conduct workshops to teach basic sign language.

There are also ‘talksign’ stickers available at the school at R10 each.

All funds raised go towards the KZN Blind and Deaf Society.
