Share the love at Shelly Centre this Valentine’s month
There's still a chance for you to enter a main prize draw for an adventure getaway at Lake Eland - until this Sunday, February 17.
Shelly Centre’s Pick n Pay centre court will provide the perfect platform for ‘Sharing the Love’ in honour of Valentine’s Day, February 14. Shelly Centre’s marketing manager Kirstin Rowbotham said the community is at the heart of Shelly Centre.

“There will be a display pop up shop outside Pick n Pay until February 17 for the exchange of previously loved fashion and household items. You are invited to bring your ‘can do without’s’ and donate them to our ‘Share The Love’ team for must-haves such as other donated items from our shoppers, store vouchers or brand-new items given by our stores in Shelly Centre,” explained Kirstin.
“All items which are not exchanged will be donated to the Rehoboth Children’s Village situated in Oribi George. Rehoboth is a home for orphaned children that are either affected or infected by HIV/AIDS. What’s more? In the theme of love, snap a pic in our selfie station or bring your other half to our kissing booth. Let’s make this a Valentine’s day to remember,” added Kirstin.
Also, there’s a chance for you to enter the main prize draw for an adventure getaway at Lake Eland for two people.
How it works:
Go through your wardrobe, linen cupboard and kitchen and bring the previously loved, clean and in good working order items you can do without, to Shelly Centre Pick n Pay court.
The team there will asses your items and colour code them, based on their replacement value, condition and item category, as follows:
White – Excellent donation, but, sorry you cannot trade
Grey – Moderate
Black – Looking good
Red – Hot find
For every assessed item you supply from grey to red, you will receive a token to exchange for another item in the same colour category, be it a voucher, brand-new store sponsored item or a previously loved donated item. For each donation, you will be given an entry into the draw for a Lake Eland adventure valued at over R4000.
