Pilcon Projects was awarded the contract to fix this section of road which has been a thorn in the side of Pennington residents ever since the previous contractor failed to complete the job. The project  is now expected be completed towards the end of the year. During a brief visit by the Mail last week, construction workers could be seen excavating at the site.

Before construction recommenced, residents were furious at the state in which the area was left, as it is home to a giant sinkhole which is now finally being seen to.

In addition to the problems in Dolphin Drive, Salmon Drive was dug up last year prior to being completely re-tarred.

This project was meant to be completed around November last year, but despite the work not being finished, the road has now been gravelled – a very big improvement from the previous muddy dirt road. The original sum budgeted for this project has now being exceeded by R2-m. There is still more to be done on this road which leads to the beach but the improvement is marked.
