Sheppie Snippets: Free health awareness day offered

The awareness day will take place at Radiant Life Ministries.

Port Shepstone Clinic invites everyone to a health awareness day at Radiant Life Ministries church in Palmview this Saturday, February 16 from 9am to 2pm.

The health awareness day offers a range of services such as HIV counselling and testing, TB screening and testing, diabetes and hypertension screening, nutritional assessment and pregnancy testing.

Valentine’s dinner and dance

Child Welfare, South Africa Port Shepstone is hoolding its Valentine’s dinner and dance at Marburg Secondary School hall this Saturday, February 16 at 6.30pm. Musician, Jesse James will entertain. Make a date

A musical stand up comedy show by well-known Durban couple Craig Lewis and Theresa Roux, will take to the stage at the Port Shepstone Country Club on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 at 7pm. Stonecroft

The next Stonecroft Ministries meeting takes place at the Port Shepstone Country Club this Friday, February 15 at 9am for 9.30am. Businessman, TV star and author Musa Mseleku will talk on how he navigates a polygamous relationship. The main speaker for the morning will be Margaret Rex with music by Marius Swart. Volleyball

The Nanda Moodley memorial Volleyball tournament will be held at the Marburg Sports Complex on Saturday, February 23 at 1pm. The tournament which is in its second year is open to all local players, social teams, business houses, religious organisations, teachers, families and volleyball enthusiasts. Entry fee is R200 per team, with registration from 1pm on the day of the tournament. For further information, contact tournament director, Jason Govender at 084 250 8875.

Maha Shivarathri

The Shree Raam Narayan Temple Society in Marburg will observe Maha Shivarathri at the temple on Monday, March 4 from 6pm to 6am. Officiating priest is Pundit Misra.

All are welcome. For further information contact Singh Samsunder at 083 3008382. The society is also hosting an Eastern Extravaganza an evening of glitz, glamour and dinner.

There will be a Miss Eastern Teen contest as well as performances by Shiv Ramsunder and Samishka Singh. Former Lotus FM DJ Chandresan Govender will also be in attendance. The event will be staged at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre on Saturday, March 16 at 5.30pm for 6pm. Entry fee is R150 per person. Lucky draws, a raffle and an auction will be held.
