Shave or spray your hair in support of the Cansa Shavathon 2019

Funds raised will go towards Cansa’s care and support programmes for patients.

The 16th national Cansa Shavathon is around the corner, so ring the date on your calendar, and invite family and friends to join you at one of the local shopping centres on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3.

The theme this year is ‘Colouring Hope.’ While the words ‘colouring’ and ‘hope’ might not spring to mind when thinking of cancer, Cansa would like to emphasise that a diagnosis is no longer a death sentence.

More people are living beyond cancer, and they need a public show of support to encourage them to keep fighting the disease and to adapt to living with the side effects of treatment.

For the Shavathon adults pay R50 and children under 12 pay R25 to participate. People can opt to shave off their hair or spray it. Hair can also be donated if the ponytail measures 25cm or longer.

All hair donations (which must meet the necessary requirements) will be used to make wigs for cancer patients.

Funds received will go towards Cansa’s care and support programmes for patients. For more information visit www.cansa.org.za or contact the toll-free line 0800226622 or at info@cansa.org.za
