Southcity Christian School ‘old girl’ Hannah Nero (2018) has been selected as a member of the Aspire Athletic USA Hockey Team. She attended an information and trials session last weekend. Aspire Atlantic is an International University Scholarship and Placement programme. Hannah plans to travel to the USA in June for a tour where teams play in three states.

‘Old girl’, Denita-Sue Pieterse (2016) is currently studying at Emmanuel College in Georgia, USA. Last weekend she was awarded the ‘Elite Swimmers Award’, the highest award given to a student athlete by NCAA (National Collegiate Athletics Association) in the state of Georgia. The criteria for receiving this award are highest GPA (academic results), coupled with certain specified times achieved in swimming. She has also been nominated for a NCAA leadership conference.
Denita-Sue is the only swimmer that nominated along with two other athletes from Georgia.
This hardworking, determined, well-rounded young woman is also heading out on an outreach to North Carolina with her church to rebuild some houses that were destroyed, damaged or lost in a recent hurricane.
The school is exceptionally proud of both ‘old girls’.
