Breaking a sweat to raise funds for two organisations

A healthy R4 000 was raised.

The well-organised TriZumbathon session at Port Shepstone High not only raised a sweat, it also raised funds for Harmony Hills Animal Rescue and ILoveboobies.

ILoveBoobies is a non-profit and public benefit organisation that aims to give rural South Africans access to mobile health screening clinics across social, physical and economic barriers.

Organiser Cindy Francis said that Zumba was the perfect exercise as a fundraiser as people of all ages can take part.

“It’s a great, healthy activity. There are a lot of different ways to raise money and we thought that something active and suitable for both adults and the young would be a really fun way to do it.”

Said one entrant, “We just wanted to do whatever we could to help and we did it because there was a need.”
