Quilters sew to help furry friends
The draw took place in January this year and the lucky winner of the 'Chook Quilt' was Elsa Schonken.
THE Pleasuretime Quilters Guild completed a marvellous group quilt last year which became known as the ‘Chook Quilt’ due to its chicken theme.
The ladies from this group dedicated their time and effort to the quilt as it was to be raffled off, with the proceeds being used to purchase food for a local animal organisation, 4 Paws and a Tail Rescue.

Carol Anderson, owner of Carol’s Yarn Barn in Scottburgh assisted the guild in the sales of raffle tickets which began in September last year.
The draw took place in January this year and the lucky winner of the ‘Chook Quilt’ was Elsa Schonken. A total of R3 680 was raised.
This money was used to purchase animal food which was then handed over to Johnny Koekemoer of 4 Paws and a Tail Rescue, a local organisation which feeds and rehomes animals in our area.
A grateful thanks goes out to all community members who helped support this worthy cause.
