Uvongo in the running for Kwêla Town of the Year – vote now!

Winning to the title will benefit everyone, so all South Coasters are encouraged to vote.

Uvongo, Newcastle and Cathkin Peak are the 2019 nominees for KwaZulu-Natal’s Town of the Year, part of the popular KykNET Kwêla Dorp van die Jaar competition.

The nomination has been welcomed by Uvongo residents who are urging everyone to get behind the town and vote.

Uvongo councillor, George Henderson said this was a great opportunity for the town to showcase its great beach and lagoon – a perfect holiday destination.

“A big thank you  to our local photographers Justin Klusener, Wessel Strydom, Marcelline Simonotti-Bircher and Barry Smit who helped put together a lovely portfolio that was sent off to Kyknet.”

Mr Henderson said winning the title would benefit the whole South Coast, and encouraged all South Coasters to get voting.

Vote by sending an sms to 33157 with Uvongo as the message.

Up to 30 messages can be send from one number.

The closing date for voting is this Friday, March 8 at noon.

The KZN winner will be announced on Kwela, DSTV Channel 144 this Sunday, March 10.
