Father Andrew celebrates 35th jubilee

More than two hundred parishioners and visitors attended the simple yet meaningful jubilee celebration.

Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Parish in Margate recently celebrated Father Andrew Pierzynski’s 35th jubilee as a priest.

More than two hundred parishioners and visitors attended the simple yet meaningful celebration.

The occasion was marked by a celebratory thanksgiving mass and a shared luncheon after the service. Father Andrew was ordained in 1984 and has been a parish priest in Margate for nine years.

Father Andrew started out as a missionary priest in Africa 30 years ago, first in Zambia then at St Monica’s mission near Port Edward where he worked for many years.

Congregants from the Umzimkhulu parish and Christ the King in Port Shepstone joined the celebration service while the Gamalakhe parish choir led the singing.
