Marsec places third at verbal challenge

Marburg Secondary School’s speech and drama club recently took part in the annual Rotary Team Talk competition hosted by the Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast.

Team 1 comprised Nadene Sholayan, Stembiso Mkhize and Senzo Ngcongo with the topic ‘Discipline starts at home’.

Khatija Ismail, Kamogelo Rae Mogotsi and Asemahle Ntshika made up the second team and delivered a speech entitled ‘Dear Bully’.

Khatija and Asemahle finished among the best speakers at the contest and the school placed third overall in the district.

The school’s newly developed soccer league featured its third game last Friday. Stilas defeated World XI 3-2 in a tightly contested match.

In the first match of the league, Alpha United beaten 2-0 by Young Stars and the second game saw Destroyers beat Marsec United 3-1. The league continues in the second term.
