Horrible hole left in Southport after Ugu repair

The area was left in a shocking state.

A trench dug by Ugu employees while fixing a burst water pipe outside the Southport Post Office last Monday has been left open, posing a danger to customers.

When the Herald visited the site last Friday the area had still not been filled in. Not only did it pose a hazard, but the rubbleb from the excavation had taken up parking bays, leaving the area in a mess.

A concerned resident said the area had been left in a shocking state, and it had affected business.

As of Monday this week the area had still not been restored to its original condition.

Ugu was asked for comment but none had been received at the time of going to press.
