Malangeni soup kitchen needs your help
The volunteers who run the soup kitchen are seeking to better their community and put smiles back on children's faces.
The Tears soup kitchen in Malangeni is seeking the assistance of the public. The soup kitchen is in need of food and building materials in order to continue with the project.
“We are so grateful to those community members who have assisted us by either donating food for the children or building materials for the building we run this project from,” said Thabani Emmanuel Ngongoma of Tears soup kitchen.
“I also want to thank the Umdoni Municipality councillors who gave us permission to run the soup kitchen in the area.”

Even though they have received assistance with this initiative from the public a lot more help is still required.
The roof of the building has just been constructed but additional materials such as bricks and planks are needed. Mr Ngongoma said that there is a big need for food as children stop at the kitchen before they go to school in the morning and not just at the times the kitchen operates.

“They come to get something to eat in the morning, as previously they were taking medication on an empty stomach and going to school.
They weren’t able to concentrate properly because of this. At least now they can stay focused in school if they are fed in the morning,” he added.
The volunteers who run the soup kitchen are seeking to better their community and put smiles back on children’s faces. They believe the happiness of the children is rewarding enough.
If you are in a position to assist or would like to find out more about the soup kitchen contact Mr Ngongoma at 079-2933150.
