South Coast women unite for Women’s World Day of Prayer

The theme for 2019 was "Come, Everything is Ready."

On the first Friday in March every year, Christian women in more than 170 countries come together to observe a common day of prayer. Known as the ‘Women’s World Day of Prayer’ it brings together women of various races, cultures and churches in fellowship and understanding.

Locally, women from two churches, Christ the King Catholic Church in Port Shepstone and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Margate joined in worship.

It was a celebration with powerful presentations.

Every year the worship service focuses on a different country and a specific theme. This year it was the turn of Slovenia. The theme for 2019 is “Come, Everything is Ready.”

Through preparation and participation in the worship service, women worldwide learn of the concerns and needs of their sisters in worship from other countries and to empathize and feel in solidarity with them.
