She officially retired in 2018, after an impressive 36 years at the school. Being the meticulous professional she is, she stayed on to assist the school during the first two months of 2019, to ensure a smooth transition into the new year.

For over three decades, Mrs Moodley was the friendly voice on the phone, the advisor to both staff members and pupils and the foremost expert in all clerical matters.

Her encyclopedia like mind enabled her to rattle off telephone and fax numbers instantaneously. When it came to human resource management, her extensive knowledge of departmental policies and circulars ensured that the educators of the school always followed proper procedures.

During her time at the school, she served under five principals, carrying out her duties with utmost dedication and professionalism, thus ensuring the smooth running of the school.

Current acting principal, Madhan Seevnarain, said that he was grateful for the guidance that he received from Mrs Moodley. He added that her welcoming smile and wise words will surely be missed by not only the staff of the school but also the many visitors that had the pleasure of interacting with her.

Mrs Moodley can now look forward to spending more time with her husband, Sonny, her two children Vaneshree and Suven, and her grand-daughter Zea.

The governing body, principal, teaching staff, non-teaching staff and pupils of Marburg Secondary School would like to wish Mrs Moodley well during her retirement.
