Plant and garden fair in Shelly Beach soon

It's a day to enjoy all things green and growing.

The second South Coast Plant & Garden Fair will take place at St John’s Lutheran Church, Shelly Beach on May 30.

Organiser Ruth Mathias said the South Coast is blessed with an amazing growing climate and there are lots of keen growers and gardeners living here.

“The fair aims to bring together garden and plant related businesses and entrepreneurs with plant and garden clubs, conservancies and the gardening public,” she said.

“This year sees an even larger selection of vendors from all over KZN including airplants, orchids, exotic tropicals, palms, hoyas, fruit trees, succulents, carnivorous plants, handmade pots, bonsai, vegetable and herb seedlings, indigenous trees and plants, cut flowers and more,” explained Ruth.

There will be a fabulous tea garden, hosted by St John’s Lutheran Church with hot and cold drinks, savoury and sweet options as well as vegetarian and gluten free items.

During the course of the day there will be talks and demonstrations from the various plant experts.

The fair will open at 09:00. Entry is R15, free for under 18s.
