‘Cat’ show was a rousing success

Cat Simoni and Paul Spence are a dab hands at producing their own version of such artistes as Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond, and equally able to bring the roof down to tunes made famous by Rod Stewart.

CAT Simoni and Paul Spence, who make up Cat and Paul, produced their best show yet, in their presentation of “Hello Again”, at Umdoni Retirement Village Hall on Friday, March 8.

Travelling “around the world”, the show started with the rousing “From Russia with Love” and took one through the various countries. Beautiful, elegant and polished, it was Cat at her very best. She was ably complemented by Paul, and the duo had their audience enchanted. It was a great thrill to see (hear) Cat play the saxophone, and she also showed her talent with a guitar. There were some old sentimental numbers, interspersed with some hand clapping renditions which had people swaying to the music.

Cat’s rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Memories” from Cats, which was sung as a tribute to Linda Harris, who is recovering from hip surgery, and who heads up the entertainment committee, caused goosebumps.

“Hello Again” was entertainment at its very best.
