Just In: Buried body found on Sheppie beach

Preliminary indications are that the man was murdered.

The body of a man thought to be aged between 30 and 40 years of age was discovered at the Port Shepstone beachfront late yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon.

Police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge said the body was buried in the sand near the tidal pool. The man appeared, he said,  to have suffered multiple stab/gunshot  wounds.

“A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The identity of the man is  unknown at this stage,” he said.

Port Shepstone detectives are investigating.
