Rabies is a potentially dangerous disease and it is essential that your pet is immunised. Be at the town hall and library between 8.30am and 12.30pm, to take advantage of this free service – you won’t regret it.
Grand market
The Hibberdene community welcomes the new owners of Blue Waters Pub and Grill, Sandra Schoeman and Jacques Jansen van Vuuren. They are wished the very best in their new venture. Human Rights Day (tomorrow, 21st) will be celebrated with a grand flea market at the venue, with all proceeds going to hospice. From 11am to 5pm there will be live entertainment from ‘DJ Funky’ and lots of fun is planned for the day. There will be prizes, ‘pop-a-balloon’ activities and brandy and whiskey specials at the bar. Stalls may be hired at R50 each, so contact Sandra at 078 4782620.
Don’t miss out
And the following weekend (Saturday, March 30), Mtwalume’s popular craft and flea market takes place at the usual venue, the grassy area alongside the swimming pool at Koelwaters Resort. A bumper number of tables have been reserved and what’s more, tables are free of charge. Contact Sue at either 039 9721425 or 082 4002616. Andy Els will once again provide his special brand of music, so go along, have breakfast or lunch, and pick up some lovely Easter bargains.
Thoughts and prayers
Steve Coulson has been in Shelly Beach Hospital for a week with an ongoing infection in his broken ankle. Please remember him and all others on the sick list in your thoughts and prayers.
The holidays are upon us once again and school children and holidaymakers are wished a wonderful, relaxing and sunny break.
Obey lifesavers on the beach and stick to the rules of the road.
Happy birthday
Your scribe has no record of any anniversaries for the week and birthdays are few and far between, with only Delaine Goliath (24th), Jill Bylett (25th) and Brian Taylor (26th) on record.
Don’t forget to keep Lizzie busy with all things Hibberdene.
