Pennington – Jock Payne Shellhole suffered another loss when Moth Alan Noel Brown answered the sunset call on March 17, 2019, at the age of 86 years.

Moth Alan was born in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland and after leaving school joined the Irish Police, then known as the Royal Ulster Constabulary.

The call of adventure lead him to Africa, where he signed up with the Kenyan police force.

During this time he saw action in support of the British Army and the Kenyan Regiment during the Kenyan Emergency, for which he was awarded the Africa General Service Medal I.P and I.P/ GR .1.

After leaving the Kenyan police he moved to Pietermaritzburg in 1969 where he joined NCD, Clover Dairies until his retirement in 2003.
