Just In: One dead in accident near police garage in Marburg

It's unsure what the cause of the accident was at this stage.

A PEDESTRIAN was killed in a motor vehicle accident on the P200 in Marburg this afternoon.

The incident took place near the landmark police garage.

Glen Preston from Med-Evac said that a van travelling from Gamalakhe towards Marburg appears to have lost control either before or after hitting two pedestrians.

The second pedestrian was taken to hospital, with serious injuries.

The van ended up in the ditch on the side of the road, the driver uninjured.

Official comment from Saps is still awaited.
