Annual Bible Walk raises funds

The Bible Society prints and distributes Bibles in many different languages.

A number of South Coasters joined the congregation of the NG Church Port Shepstone on Human Rights Day for its popular annual Bible Walk to raise funds for the Bible Society of South Africa.

Entry was free and the first 150 entrants home received a Bible Society medal.

The walk was well supported and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Anita Roodt of the NG Church Port Shepstone said it takes just R69 to buy someone a Bible. “The substantial amount of money raised by the walkers will be well used.”

She added that the Bible Society prints and distributes Bibles in various languages. “People all over South Africa benefit from the society’s charitable work and the assistance it receives from supporters.”

After the walkers had completed the pleasant walk there were plenty of delicious goodies on sale at the finish line.
