Sheppie Snippets: Telugus to celebrate new year
Songs, dance and light comedy will feature at the event.
The Port Shepstone and District Andhra Sabha will be celebrating and commemorating the Telugu New Year (Ugadi) this Saturday, April 6 at the Andhra Hall at 4pm. Chief co-ordinator of the Ugadi (Telugu New Year Function), Kantha Chellan has planned a programme of song, dance and light comedy entertainment for the event.
The officials and members of the Port Shepstone and District Andhra Sabha extend an invitation to representatives of all local religious and cultural organisations, as well as to all members and families of the local Andhra community to attend the function. A full supper will be served.

Sheppie beach clean up

Temple prayers
Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma will observe its Hindi new year, Ramayan week and Shubh Navarathi this Saturday, April 6 from 2pm. Ramayan discourses and recitals, bhajans and hawan will be conducted. On Sunday, April 7 Ramayan recitals, Shubh Navarathi and the 13 chapters of the Durga Saphaspati will be recited concluding with bhajans, hawan and aarthi at 2pm. On April 12 Raam Naumi will be observed at 10am. Hanuman Jayanthi and the 85th anniversary of the temple will be observed on April 19. All are welcome. The Shree Raam Narayan Temple Society will observe its Ramayan week from this Saturday, April 6 at 2pm.
Sri Raam Naumi will be held on April 13 at 9am and Sri Hanuman Jayanthi on April 19 at 9am. The officiating priest will be Pundit Misra.

The Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Alayam welcome all to their annual Jhunda Prayer this Sunday, April 7. Hawan starts at 8am followed by the main prayer at 10am.
