Bowlers tackle serious issue at ‘fun(d)raising’ day

The day promoted awareness of prostate and testicular cancer.

Riverside Sports Club held a fun  ‘More Balls Than Most’ Blue Drive last Saturday. Besides bowling, activities on the day included live music, a braai, raffles and lucky draws.

A number of bowlers, some as young as nine, novices and seasoned bowlers took to the well-prepared greens on a picture-perfect morning to do battle, while onlookers relaxed on the grass under brilliant sunshine and encouraged the players on.

The event was well supported and in aid of a good cause – prostate and testicular cancer education as well as remembering those that have lost their fight with this disease.  R11 500 was raised.
