Margate Scouts enjoy carnival time at Southcoast Mall

All funds raised will go towards replacing old hiking and camping equipment.

Cubs and Scouts from the first Margate Scout Group held a fundraising carnival at the Southcoast Mall  last Saturday. Parents were encouraged to bring their children and come along and learn more about scouting and how this award-winning youth development programme impacts on the communities they serve.

It was a fun-filled day with carnival games and a raffle, with some great prizes up for grabs. All funds raised will go towards the replacement of old hiking and camping equipment as well as assisting Scouts with costs to go on camping trips.

Shannon Gordon (fundraiser for the first Margate Scout Group) said the day was a great success. “We hope to make a tradition out of it. The day went incredibly well and we had a lot of compliments about the variety of fun activities at the carnival. We will definitely be doing it again,” she said.
