What a waste

On March 14, Councillor Tap Kruger reported a leaking water meter in Shrike Place and your scribe also sent an sms to 44751 on March 16, but no acknowledgement was ever received. To date the meter is still leaking, spraying water up into the air, which means it is leaking under pressure. It would be interesting to know exactly how much water has been wasted.

Rain wreaks havoc

While some are grateful for the recent rains, spare a thought for Thomas Barry of Valley Road who is sitting with two problems. The recent heavy rains which could not flow into storm water drains fast enough, rechannelled its way into Thomas’s yard and washed away his driveway. To make matters worse, the main water pipe burst and washed tons of sand into his swimming pool. As Thomas put it ‘the damage is crazy’.

This is not the first time the overflow from storm water drains has flooded his yard and he has already requested assistance from Councillor Tap Kruger and chief whip Selvan Chetty to get this matter resolved by the municipality.
