Inspiring new rector welcomed to St Margaret’s Anglican Church

This is Reverend Sphamandla Nkabinde's first parish.

Reverend Sphamandla Nkabinde was instituted as the new rector at St Margaret’s Anglican church in Margate recently. It was an incredible celebration of joy as local parishioners and members from other parishes, friends, Mother’s Union members and family members packed the church.

St Margaret’s own Reverend Jenny Michell led the service amidst an array of visiting clergy in supportive roles. Bishop Dino Gabriel, the Anglican Bishop of The Diocese of Natal, presided.

It was a wonderful expression of support for this young priest as he takes on his first parish.

Friends from his home parish in Sobantu came to support one of their sons. Others travelled from Stanger, the church he attended when he was first ordained while many any more came from St Paul’s in Durban where Reverend Sphamandla Nkabinde was for a year.

St Margaret’s is privileged to have such a humble, gentle and inspiring young man as their rector.
