Tweni Talk: Remember to recycle responsibly

Anybody recycling at the bins is requested to place items in the designated bins by separating glass, paper and plastic.

Recycling rules

It is important for residents to remember that by placing clear recycling bags next to the recycling bins in Commercial Road is tantamount to dumping. Anybody recycling at the bins is requested to place items in the designated bins by separating glass, paper and plastic.

If clear plastic bags issued by the municipality are used, please leave them outside the gate with the usual black refuse bags on the day of collection. If this method is preferred, then it is not necessary to separate items, as that is done back at the depot.

Clear plastic bags are collected by different trucks from those collecting black bags. If you are unsure if the road you live on is on the list for pick-up, please email services@rnm.gov.za and Mandisa Swaartbooi will forward it to the relevant department. In fact any correspondence in connection with Ray Nkonyeni Municipality must be sent to this address.
