Liz Willey has some interesting 'enviro' news.

Due to the Easter holidays there is not much community news this week but please keep the snippets coming in. Hope everyone had an awesome long weekend.

Liz Willey of Umtentweni has some interesting news:

“A fun follow up to the article about the two Southbroom women who pick up brush cutter strings on their walks – Esther Steynberg and I have decided to take up the challenge. We’ve done eight walks around residential Tweni so far and have collected a whopping 729 wires.

“Now for some maths. We walk about 6.5km each time so that’s 52kms in total. This equates to 14 wires per kilometre or one wire every 72 metres.” A sobering number indeed.

Don’t forget to diarise the monthly Umtentweni CPF meeting which takes place at the library on April 30 at 5.15pm.

There has been an upsurge of activity recently and it will be of interest for residents to stay in the loop. Here too, refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Happy birthday wishes to Craig Rhodes (18th), Valerie Beckett (22nd), Gabi Hill (24th) and Kyle Solomon (27th).
