Other important Probus features:
• Clubs are non-political and non-sectarian
• Clubs choose to be either men only, women only or mixed
• Clubs control their own financial affairs and subscribe to the principal that they are non-profit making and non-fundraising
• While each club is totally independent, all are affiliated to The Probus Council of Southern Africa and operate under one constitution.
What Probus Clubs do: Most clubs meet monthly at a set venue; enjoy a meal, interesting guest speakers and occasional outings – all at reasonable cost.
Within clubs there can also be different interest groups which sometimes get together in their own time for pursuits such as cards, theatre outings, walking, model boats or plane building, bird-watching, gardening, fishing – you name it, they do it!
Being a men-only membership club, Scottburgh Probus gathers at the Scottburgh Golf Club from 12 noon on the first Monday of each month and visitors are always warmly welcomed.
For details on how you can join in the fun, phone Scottburgh Probus president, Clive Roberts at 082 -0905450 or secretary Iain Jenkins at 039-9783277.
