Dagga suspects arrested near Sipofu off-ramp

The dagga is estimated to be worth around R94 800 and is believed to have been coming from the Eastern Cape.

Two people, aged 44 and 33, were travelling on the N2 Freeway near the Sipofu off-ramp when they were stopped by members of the Port Shepstone DPCI, Port Shepstone Saps K9 unit and a private security company.

“After searching the vehicle, at least 10 bags of dagga, carefully concealed under the chassis of the vehicle, were found,” said Margate Saps communications officer, Sergeant Sibu Ncane.

The dagga is estimated to be worth around R94 800 and is believed to have been coming from the Eastern Cape.

The suspects were charged and appeared in the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court on July 9.

They are expected to reappear on July 17 for bail application.
