Merlewood Primary’s pupils have been very busy collecting empty crisp packets.
The packets are then compressed into empty two-litre soft drink bottles to make an ‘eco-brick’, which can then be used to make a variety of things.

Competition is strong as pupils compete within grades to see who can make the most eco-bricks.
The school’s SEEP committee initiated the project and appeal to parents to save and send all empty two litre plastic bottles in.
