PSHS speakers place second

The team was part of a science and innovation focus week, where many talks were given by experts.

Five members of Port Shepstone High’s distinguished Oratory Society represented KZN Province at the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA) national competition held in Pretoria recently.

The team was part of a science and innovation focus week, where many talks were given by experts from various companies, institutions and organisations that focused on career-building, as well as getting young minds to embrace science and technology in SA.

Sheppie High placed second in South Africa at a prestigious awards ceremony and the school congratulates the diligent team on their wonderful achievement.

The library received a prestigious accolade from the Department of Education at a ceremony held at Dokkies in Durban on October 10.

Mazithi Mbhele (Department of Education – Ugu Schools Library Advisor) was delighted to award the School Library Excellence award first prize to PSHS representatives (from left) Kathi Nel (deputy principal: academics), Deveshnee Moonusamy (teacher) and Sharon van der Berg (librarian).

PSHS was awarded first prize in the School Library Excellence Awards for the best urban library.

All credit goes to those who were involved in the upgrade three years ago, as well as to those who continue to work so tirelessly to keep standards so consistently high.
