Port Shepstone Islamic School commemorated its 25 years of existence at a fund-raising dinner in the school hall last Saturday.
Founders of the institute were complimented and the community was thanked for their ongoing support.

Messages from current principal Moulana Imran Khamissa and former principals Fathima Khan and Zaffar Ahmed took the audience down memory lane.
Former Deputy Minister of Education and keynote speaker Enver Surty shared memories of his career and highlighted challenges ahead.
Dr Kathija Jagot, who was part of the schools first batch of matriculants in 2002 and is now a doctor specialising in gynaecology and obstetrics, also inspired the audience with her delivery.
School soccer squads returned with merits from the Association of Muslim Schools’ soccer festival held in Johannesburg.
Gr 12 pupils have commenced final examinations and the rest of the school will follow shortly.
