Former Scottburgh High pupil, Kayla-Ann Osborn, was the guest speaker at Scottburgh’s recent matric prizegiving.
Kayla-Ann, now a chef at the Chefs Tablerestaurant in Umhlanga, also presented the awards.

In her address she stressed that hard work always paid off, and encouraged the matrics to persevere in all that they do.
Special awards were presented to the following:
Galbraith Trophy for loyalty, leadership and service to the media centre: Sean Brunyee.

Walker Trophy for special recognition: Juan van Rheede van Oudtshoorn.
Denis Soldat Trophy for academic progress in her final year: Nicole Pearson.
Bartman Trophy for prefect of the year: Minenhle Maluleka.
Todeschini Fellowship Award for girls: Nicole Pearson.
Todeschini Fellowship Award for boys: Joe Wortmann.
Bell Trophy, awarded to a pupil who in the opinion of the headmaster and staff, achieved academically and in the co-curricular programme: Fabian Santo.

Headmaster’s Shield, awarded to a pupil who in the opinion of the headmaster and staff, has shown all the qualities of leadership, loyalty and service to the school: Kiara Chetty.
Pioneer Trophy for outstanding leadership, loyalty and service: Joe Wortmann.
Sfundo Shozi was re-awarded his honours for academics and was named this year’s dux.
Avaneshni Govender received full academic colours and was placed second in grade, while Althaf Khader who was placed third in grade, also received full academic colours.
