#Matric2019 – Merlewood scores an “A”

The hard work and commitment that every pupil put into their exams paid off.

Merlewood Secondary’s matric class of 2019 is congratulated on achieving a 90.9 percent pass rate.

The school’s top pupils, who all received bachelor passes, included Samantha Jama (75 percent with three As and two Bs), Pretty Khumalo (72 percent with two As and two Bs), Esethu Jwara (72 percent with one A and three Bs), Akhona Ndlovu (71 percent with two As and two Bs) and Viwe Nyulushe (70 percent with one A and three Bs).

“It is not just about the top achievers but also about the hard work and commitment that every pupil puts into their exams that pays off. It took the whole school and supportive parents for the students to achieve this excellent pass rate. Each teacher, mom, dad, granny, grandpa, aunty and uncle has made these results possible,” said principal, Joe Venter.
