Members of the Ramsgate Lions Club handed out wellness pamphlets to shoppers outlining healthy living, self-efficiency, and behavioural health.

In total five men and 135 women were tested.

Four men and seven women were out of range, and it was recommended they consult a doctor or their nearest clinic.

Lion Rob Henry said high blood sugar levels would mean you either have diabetes (type one or type two) or have a high risk of developing type two diabetes.

“Although diabetes can have symptoms, such as thirst, urinating a lot, blurred vision, weight loss, recurrent infections and tiredness, you may only experience these symptoms mildly, or not at all. That’s why it’s important to get tested,” he said.
