This Saturday (8th) the chariot procession will leave the alayam premises at 7.30am to go down to Park Rynie beach.

Thereafter, the procession will return to the alayam.

Lunch will be served.

The flag de-hoisting will be at 4.30pm.

Back to the topic of no electricity.

Last week, Kelso, Pennington and Park Rynie residents had to suffer through prolonged power failures, sometimes lasting days.

Now that the problem has been sorted out, we have yet another issue – loadshedding!

Just when you think everything is going back to normal, we get this nasty surprise.

After day three of load shedding, I’ve personally decided to just stop moaning and go with the flow.

It’s becoming part of life so we’re just going to have to deal with it.

If you know it’s going to occur during the day, prepare well in advance.

Charge all cellphones and electronics, and if you’re at work, try to meet you deadlines before the power goes out, rather than be left lagging way behind schedule.

If it’s during the night, make sure that you’ve stocked up on candles, torches and battery operated lights.
