Merlewood Primary School’s U12 and U14 boys and girls teams entered the volleyball knockout tournament held in Marburg last Saturday.
Whilst the U12 teams showed potential, the lack of experience worked against them.

Both the U14 teams played exceptionally well and progressed to the semi finals where they were knocked out.
Unfortunately Jai Hind Primary proved too strong for the boys and Nqabeni Primary was too strong for the girls.
Teams will be hard at training for the next tournament.
Many thanks to team managers Alicia Dennis, Nadia Pillay, Katelyn Dukharan and coach Devi Govender for their assistance.
It was very pleasing to see those parents who supported on the day and their presence was greatly appreciated by the teams.
