Animal organisations desperately appeal for food ahead of Covid-19 lockdown

The SPCA and Harmony Hill are in desperate need of food for their animals.

A three week lock down plan has been implemented by management of Lower South Coast SPCA to minimize the need to euthanize in a disaster situation.

So far 12 animals have been surrendered  to the LSC SPCA since the global pandemic reached our shores.

Vice chairman, Carla Steenkamp said they need the support of the community.

“All our revenue generating streams are blocked due to the necessary lockdown announced. We desperately need food for our dogs, cats and farm animals.”

She said their inspectorate team will still be available for emergencies and the claiming of any lost and found animals.

The society appeals to the public to get all their animals microchipped, and the clinic will be open until Thursday afternoon.
