Manhunt on for prisoners who escaped from Port Shepstone holding cells

Six of the nine escapees have been reportedly been rearrested.

Nine awaiting trial prisoners escaped from the Port Shepstone holding cells early this morning.
According to reports, six of the nine escapees have been caught, while Lazer 911 reaction units are currently assisting police and Ray Nkonyeni Municipality law enforcement in the search for the remaining prisoners.
The public is cautioned to keep windows, doors and access gates locked until the prisoners have all been apprehended.
Comment is awaited form the police.
This an evolving story and will be updated as soon new information comes to hand.
