WATCH: Marburg chip factory goes up in flames

It took firefighters several hours to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters and emergency services worked into the early hours of this morning (Monday) to fight a raging fire at the Simba factory in Marburg.

Glen Preston of Med-Evac Emergency Services said there was one person at the factory when it caught alight but they fortunately managed to get out of the building in time.

It took firefighters some time to extinguish the massive blaze.

At this stage, the cause of the fire is not known.
