UPDATE: 628 confirmed Covid-19 cases in Ugu District

Seven people have died from the virus in the district.

As of today, Wednesday, July 8,  KwaZulu-Natal has 16 743 confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the Department of Health.

Of these, 11 225 are active with 899 new cases confirmed today.

Some 223 people have died from the disease in the province.

The recovery rate is 5 307.

The total number of screenings done is 7 823 427 and 139 602 tests have been conducted.
