Super singles bowls comes to Margate

Saturday's festivities began with a round robin phase as teams from all over the province took part.

It was an intense affair at the Margate Bowling Club last week Monday on the final day of the All KZN men’s and ladies singles.

Wayne Rittmuller from Stella Park BC in Durban won the men’s division against fellow club member Wayne Roberts.

In the ladies division, Hilary Bowling Club’s Trudie Classen edged out Stella Park’s Natalie Botha to win the title.

The tournament took place over three days from the Saturday (5th) and concluded with the finals on Monday (7th).

Saturday’s festivities began with a round robin phase as teams from all over the province took part.

The following day, the knockout stage began with over 40 players competing for a quarter-final spot.

With quarter-finals began on the Monday and by 14:00 the finals started in front of a jovial and enthusiastic crowd.

“The tournament rotates every year, and the host club this year was Margate BC,” said club president Lance Marshall. “We were thrilled by the all the action that took place, and a congratulations to the winners,” he added.
