Superb scores at Southbroom
The Alliance at Southbroom Golf Club last Wednesday was won by Malcolm Greenland, Colin Mckay, Leon Olivier and Clive Miller on 91 points. The open day last Friday, sponsored by Nashua, was an alliance with two scores to count, except on par threes, where it was three to count.
In first place were Dave Fox, Chris Miller, Peter Kupisiewicz and Mike Lig on 94 points, followed two behind by Jo Ledden, Chris Ledden, Darren Ledden and Linda Nel.
Third spot went to Gary Purtell, Nicky Smith, Erik van der Spuy and David Rush on 88 points.
In Saturday’s competition, winning the ladies section were Jeanne Powell, Lee Mutch, Felicity Robertson and Solange Fox on 78 points.
In second place were Di Morris, Sandy FitzGerald, Michelle van der Hoek and Sharon Turnbull-Jackson on 75 points.
The men’s saw the Captain (Don Osbourn) vs Vice-Captain (Peter Volck) team challenge take place, with the Vice-Captain’s team triumphing.
Best pair on the day was Peter Leeming and Phil Verwey on 42 points, with Malcolm Greenland and Clive Miller next on 41 points.
Third spot went to Gavin Sole and Gary Purtell on 40 points, with Jamie Lewis and Clive Lewis on 39 points, and Brian Jolliffe and Mike Kassner on 38 points.
