Learners gain skills from debate competition

The programme was also attended by eight provinces virtually.

The Safer South Africa Foundation (SSAF) recently implemented a programme called ‘#Youth4SaferSouthAfrica National Debate and Public Speaking.’

Thirty learners from Gamalakhe Commercial High School, Thobigunya High School, Tholimfundo High School and Margate Middle School attended the programme for six Saturdays.

The programme was also attended by eight provinces virtually.

Consultants, The Training Firm (TTF) conducted the actual training.

Thereafter, five learners were elected by the group to represent KwaZulu-Natal in a competition which took place on November 27.

Unlike 2020, the team did not place in the top three but it was a fantastic experience nonetheless.

SSAF expressed its sincere gratitude to all principals, educators and parents for their support towards the learners.

Learners were awarded certificates of attendance as well as hampers which were donated by Pick n Pay.
